I was recently looking for a photo on my phone and while doing so I had to scroll through a lot of photos to get to the one I was looking for. While scrolling through I realised that there were some photos I had totally forgotten about, but they were great photos that should be out on display and not hidden on my phone!
We have the kids school photos and Santa photos on the fridge all year long but not many others seem to make it up there. Since we also have a family calendar that I update monthly on the fridge I thought it would be a nice idea to have a monthly photo that can be updated too, so that we can see 12 months of photos.
This way we get to see 12 of our favourite photos all the time. Some months do not have holidays or special occasions in them but there are still usually a few photos that were taken randomly by one of us. Why not remember those moments too? A walk down the beach or a lunch with friends.
We all spend a lot of time in the kitchen so why not have our photos on display here too. In this area they can be less formal, they are not permanently attached to the wall so its easy to change them as often as you like.
It’s so easy these days to get photos printed, everything can be zapped straight from your phone, tablet or USB stick and be printed within minutes and cost only cents, it seems crazy that we don’t print our favourite photos more often.
So, I came up with a plan to get our photos up on the fridge, month by month.
Now you do not have to be like me and make labels for your photos, I just like doing this, I’m always trying to make everything a little bit unique! Although this does give your photo a title and remind you when the photo was taken. If you want to do this too, then check out the links at the bottom of the page where I have set up a few templates that you can use and customise for your own photos.
I took 12 Acrylic Magnetic 4×6” frames and displayed them in a grid on our fridge.
After I printed out the photos I wanted to use, I have simply put them into the frames on the fridge.
What I plan to do each month is to print out our favourite photo from the previous month, replacing the one from the previous year so we always have 12 months of photos on display.
This would also be a nice idea as a gift for a grandparent, so they always have the latest photos of the grandkids.
Have fun displaying your photos!
